Firm Faith in Shifting Seasons

Seasons change — in life, in relationships, in emotions. One day you may feel confident and steady; the next, uncertain and weary. Yet through every season, God remains the same.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” — Hebrews 13:8 (ESV)

Being emotionally grounded doesn’t mean you never struggle. It means you know where to go when you do. You’ve built your foundation not on how you feel but on Who He is. When everything around you feels uncertain, the grounded woman clings to the unchanging Word of God.

Faith grows strongest in the shifting seasons — not because life is easy, but because you learn that God’s Word truly is enough. When your emotions rise and fall, His truth stays steady. When people disappoint, His promises still hold.

Emotional maturity looks like trusting His timing when you don’t understand His plan, or choosing worship when you feel weary. It’s standing firm, not because you have strength, but because you’ve anchored yourself in the One who never moves.

Reflection Points:

  • What season are you currently in — and what is it teaching you about faith?

  • Where do you feel God stretching you to trust Him more deeply?

  • How can you use His Word to stay steady when emotions feel unpredictable?

I talk more about standing firm in changing seasons in my book Firm Foundation: 100+ Scriptures to Combat Every Emotion.
